THIS INFORMATION IS VERY IMPORTANT AND WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE READ IT THOROUGHLY
IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK
The dance year starting Monday September 12th, 2011 and ending mid-June 2012 will consist of approximately 35 classes.
Class placements are for the entire year and are allocated at the time of registration. However, the teachers will be paying close attention during the first few weeks to ensure that students are in the class level that is most beneficial to them. If we feel a change should be made we will get in touch with you and make the necessary changes. It should be noted that placements are not determined by the number of years a student has danced but rather by his/her capabilities. If enrolment for a particular class is 4 or less, class duration, fees or placement in another class will have to be considered.
Attendance
Missed classes are sometimes unavoidable. However, since continual absences negatively affect the progress of the whole class, every effort should be made to attend all classes. There will be no refunds for missed classes.
Annual Recital
Our annual recital and stage rehearsal is held in mid June at the Markham Theatre. You will receive more information on this important and spectacular event as the year progresses.
Costumes
Costumes for the recital are custom made and deposits for these will be required by December 10th 2011. The amount of deposit is determined by the number of costumes required and you will be advised accordingly.
Parent Viewing
Parent viewing on a regular basis is not permitted as audiences create an environment where students can be made to feel uncomfortable especially, when tackling new skills. As the year progresses and the students feel more ready parents will be periodically invited to watch. Exceptions are made, of course, when it is necessary for a child to have his/her parent present.
Food and Drink
No peanuts or peanut products are permitted on the premises. Food is not permitted in any of the studios. Students who do have their lunch/dinner at the studio are expected to clean up after themselves.
Class Cancellations
The studio reserves the right to cancel classes due to inclement weather. If in doubt, call the studio by 3:00 p.m. for a recorded message.
